KUALA LUMPUR: See Kok Yew has been appointed president of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI) and chairman of the ExxonMobil subsidiaries in Malaysia with effect from Saturday
The oil company said on Sunday he takes over from J. Hunter Farris who will assume the position as the new vice president, global engineering of ExxonMobil Production Company in Houston, Texas.
Born and raised in Penang, See holds a civil and structural engineering degree from the University of Malaya.
See started his career with EMEPMI in 1990 and held various technical, supervisory and management positions in Kerteh, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur.
In 2003, he was assigned overseas to ExxonMobil Production Company in Houston as regional advisor to the vice president for Asia Pacific/Middle East.
In 2005, See was appointed as operations manager for the Gulf of Mexico assets in ExxonMobil US Production.
Two years later, he moved to the Exxon Mobil Corporation head office in Irving, Texas where he was the senior upstream adviser to the corporate senior vice president.
In 2009, he returned to Houston to assume the post of the USProduction anager where he was responsible for ExxonMobil Production Company assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay, Alabama, offshore California, the Rockies in Wyoming and Colorado, and onshore assets in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
